Recovery Ministry

Teresa Lorenz
My name is Teresa Lorenz. I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA but moved a lot due to my dad
serving in the Air Force. My parents divorced when I was 2 years old, then was adopted by my step dad.
My maternal grandmother took me to Catholic church regularly and I attended Catholic school for a few
years. Due to frequent moving, I attended several different high schools. I experienced a lot of
trauma/abuse as a child, which later led to substance abuse in my teen years into my early adulthood.
During my twenties, I had 4 children, 3 daughters and one son. They are all adults now and have given me
many wonderful grandchildren. I am also a proud great grandma!
On November 23, 1999, I started my journey in recovery. My husband, Mike and I met early in this
process and have been married for over 20 years. I became clean and sober, then worked with the
homeless population. My current job allows me to interact with people who have mental health
challenges as well, thus bringing out my gifts of mercy and compassion.
My husband and I have attended PHCM for over 6 years. The Lord has recently spoke to me about
starting a recovery ministry, Pathway to Freedom. Mike and I are now able to share our hope and
healing found by serving God and identifying Jesus as our saving grace.

Michael Lorenz
My name is Michael Lorenz, I was born in Sacramento California and have lived here pretty much my
whole life. I have one sibling, a younger sister named Michelle. I was raised as a child in the Catholic
church, but later was saved by Jesus Christ in a christian church.
I have been clean and sober since October 12th 1999 and married to my beautiful wife Teresa since 2003. We have been attending Powerhouse now for more that 6 years.
In 2018 I got my contractors license and started my own business. I enjoy sports, camping and fishing.
Recovery has been part of my story for many years and starting a christian based recovery meeting has
been put on our hearts.
